I speak a lot about nutrition & health, but how we prepare & receive our food is of equal importance.
Here's 5 simple mindful eating tips that you can implement now:
☑️ Sit down for meals. Set a proper plate. Avoid multi-tasking while eating.
☑️ Express gratitude for the food that will nourish your body.
☑️ Fully take in all of the different colors, smells, textures & flavors. Activate all of your senses!
☑️ Chew thoroughly. Digestion BEGINS in your mouth.
☑️ It takes an average of 20 mins for your brain to register that you're full. Slowing down will keep you from unconsciously overeating.
Remember, developing new habits takes persistence & practice. Don't expect to be an overnight success. Give yourself some grace.
